Another "I hate Delta" post.

James was supposed to be getting home from Sacramento tonight at 10:55pm in Philly.  However, something happened when they were towing the plane out to start taxiing and they somehow broke the plane.  Apparently, when something happens to a plane that causes you to have to get on another one, you have to find new pilots until an investigation can be done on what damaged the plane....even though it was clear what happened.  And evidently, there were no more pilots in Minneapolis tonight.  So, stupid Delta has to book James, and everyone else, on the next flight out.  Which happens to be tomorrow morning at like 7am.  Which would have been fine since they are putting him up in a hotel, but the problem is that now he's getting in tomorrow morning at 10:30ish and I have to work from 10:45am to 6:30pm!  So, now he has no way to get home from Philly.  So the representative at the Delta counter told him that he would be able to apply to get reimbursed for the expense of renting a car or catching a cab to get home.  Then, I called the Delta customer service line to find out how we go about doing that...do we have to book with a certain company or does it have to be a certain class of car?  Stuff like that.  The customer service rep tells me that they will NOT reimburse any expenses after he gets to Philly!  Even though it is their fault that he is getting in over 12 hours later than he was supposed to!  I'm more than pissed right now.  In the last few times I've flown with Delta, I've had flights cancelled, flights delayed more than 4 hours, lost baggage, screaming children kicking my seat for 5 hours without a flight attendant doing anything, not having any food or drink on board a 3 hour flight, etc.  You name it, I've experienced it on Delta.  If they don't at least offer us some free miles for this more than slight inconvenience, we will not ever be flying with them again.
